Overview

This guide will walk you through all the settings available on your Magic Box device, helping you customize your experience and troubleshoot common issues.

Basic Settings

Mobile Data

If you're using a SIM card, make sure to:

  • Navigate to Settings → Mobile Data
  • Toggle the button to "On" position
  • This enables the Magic Box to read the SIM card and provide internet connectivity

Wi-Fi

To connect to Wi-Fi:

  • Go to Settings → Wi-Fi
  • Select your Wi-Fi network
  • Enter your password
  • You'll see "Connected" once successfully connected

Bluetooth

For Bluetooth connections:

  • Go to Settings → Bluetooth
  • To connect your phone (for media or calls), select the "Magic Box" option (followed by unique device identifiers)
  • For gaming controllers or other devices, use the "Qualcomm BTD" option
  • To pair a new device: select "Pair new device" → locate your device → connect

Display Settings

Home Screen Layout

You can choose between three different layout options:

  • Layout 1: Features one large widget and one smaller widget
  • Layout 2: Four widgets across the screen (2×2 configuration)
  • Layout 3: One large widget on left side with two smaller widgets on right

Quick access: You can also change layouts through the Control Center at the top of the screen.

Changing the Main Widget (Layout 1)

To change the large widget in Layout 1:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll down to "Widget app list"
  3. Select the app you want to set as the main widget
  4. A "Success" message will appear
  5. Return home to see your new widget in place

Wallpaper

To change your wallpaper:

  1. Go to Settings → Wallpaper
  2. Select Gallery
  3. Choose from available wallpapers
  4. Select the one you prefer

System Settings

Language

  • Go to Settings → Language
  • Add or change languages as needed

Software Updates

To check for and install updates:

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi
  2. Go to Settings → Upgrade
  3. Check the current version (format: YYYYMMDD)
  4. Click "Check for updates"
  5. Follow prompts if an update is available

System Information

To view system details:

  • Go to Settings → About
  • Here you'll find system version, OS resolution, RAM/ROM usage, and serial number/IMEI information

Advanced Settings

General Settings

Additional options include:

  • Boot up options: Choose default startup mode (CarPlay or Magic Box)
  • HDMI extend: Enable for multiple screen support
  • Save hotspot status: Toggle personal hotspot on/off
  • Check IFrame: Fix display issues (distorted screens, color problems)
  • Auto right-hand drive: Location-based driving setting
  • ID3 display: Fix music display issues
  • Quick floating ball: Accessibility button settings

More Settings

For deeper customization:

  • Notifications: Control app notifications
  • Sound and vibration: Adjust media volume, call volume, and notification sounds
  • Display: Toggle dark theme, adjust font size and brightness
  • Privacy: Manage location services and permissions
  • Date and time: Set time zones, manual or auto time

Home Screen Management

Customizing App Drawer

  • Long-press an app to remove it
  • Click empty space to add an app
  • Group apps together by dragging one app on top of another
  • Move folders or apps by long-pressing and dragging
  • Uninstall apps by dragging them to the "Uninstall" area at the top

Split Screen

To use two apps simultaneously:

  1. Click the plus (+) sign on the left
  2. Select the first app for the left side
  3. Select the second app for the right side
  4. Click the "Split screen" button

Performance Management

Clearing Background Processes

  • Access the left sidebar to view RAM and storage
  • Click "Clean up" to clear background processes
  • Watch the number decrease as memory is freed

Closing Background Apps

  1. Open any app to access the accessibility menu
  2. Click the "blue pages" button to see all open apps
  3. Select "Clear all" at the bottom to close all background apps

Status Indicators

The top right corner displays:

  • Wi-Fi connection status
  • SIM card status
  • Bluetooth connection
  • GPS status

Illuminated icons indicate active connections.
